It was the highlight of the evening when pharmacy, health and beauty retail chain Guardian Malaysia feted its pharmacists in recognition of their dedication, achievements invaluable contributions.
“Guardian has always strived to provide the best healthcare services to our customers. This is made possible by our team of dedicated and experienced pharmacists, who ensure that the medicines dispensed are safe, effective and of good quality,” Guardian chief operating officer Loi Liang Tok said.
Before the dinner, more than 80 Guardian pharmacists had taken part in a one-day seminar and workshop tailored to provide the latest updates on healthcare.
Guardian organises refresher courses two or three times a year as part of its ongoing continuing professional development programme.
Earlier Guardian had signed a memorandum of understanding with Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) to facilitate a Community Pharmacy Attachment programme intended to develop the knowledge, skills and abilities needed by UKM pharmacy students to pursue a career community pharmacy. The MoU signing was witnessed by Health Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai.
“The number of pharmacists in our country is increasing, and the number of pharmacists needed to serve our population is also increasing,” he said.
Under the two-week attachment programme, Guardian will provide placements for UKM’s first, second and fourth-year pharmacy students in its various retail pharmacy outlets.
This strategic partnership is a collaborative effort to continue professional development in the community pharmacy field.
